PROGRAM

Biotechnology has been hailed as the innovation for the sustainable development for the constantly developing human society and its environment. A definitive mission of biotechnology as imagined in the mission statement of the DBT, GOI is to "develop biotechnology as precision tool for wealth creation and social justice". Research and development in the area of Biotechnology has promised to deliver the solutions about human health in the era of rising infectious and non-communicable diseases. It has been also seen as technology for increasing crops yield to ensure the food security for the increasing population.

The amalgamation of basic sciences and information technology brought about the development of genomic data on numerous biological life forms, in an extraordinary way which requires biological understanding to mine the data for meaningful expression and for precision drug development with understanding of chemical sciences. Omics basically aims at the collective characterization and quantification of pools of biological molecules that translate into the structure, function, and dynamics of an organism or organisms.

The conference aims to provide a platform for promotion and ventilation of ideas among a major section of interested faculties, students and research scholars. The conference will also focus inter alia on how to leverage current strengths of the research community to seek answers to some fundamental questions in biology, to generate new technologies and to identify what it takes the country to become a leading contributor to the area of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics.
