Vasanta works in the areas of learning experience design and instructional design. She is an independent consultant working with organizations such as Digital Empowerment Foundation, UNFPA, Internshala, IIE, BigSpring and Grameen Foundation India. In this capacity she has designed and developed learning solutions for several types of audiences including barefoot wireless network engineers in rural India, schoolgirls in impoverished areas, frontline workers of Microfinance institutions, school teachers in Malaysia and government school teachers in India. She has also helped organizations hire, train and mentor instructional designers and create development standards for e-learning-based interventions. She has been an adjunct faculty with NIIT University for the M.Tech program in Education Technology taking courses on Applied Instructional Design and Experiential Learning.
Prior to being an independent consultant, she has worked in the corporate learning industry with the organizations NIIT Ltd. and Knowledge Platform. In this capacity, she has over 15 years of experience in consulting, managing, designing and developing e-learning solutions and collaborating with L&D departments of organizations in Asia, the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. Some of the learning interventions she developed during this period include workplace learning solutions on anti-money laundering, telemedicine, communication, pharmaceuticals, computer hardware, travel and ticketing, customer service and information security.
