Shounak is an Academic Associate in the Management area. He is pursuing a Fellow Programme in Management in Information Technology and Systems Area from IIM Lucknow. He received his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology. He worked as a Systems Engineer in Tata Consultancy Services in the banking and financial sector for over two years.

His research is focused on frameworks that use machine learning and statistical techniques to provide solutions related to IT Governance and Risk Management in the Healthcare domain. The target of his work is to help in decision-making related to resource optimization, IT investment and security policy in hospitals. His next phase of work will involve cyber risk management and supply chain contract analysis in healthcare.

Shounak was a recipient of a scholarship to attend the summer programme on 'Data Mining and Business Intelligence in Cyber Security' in Israel in 2017. He has published several papers in conferences and journals. He has also written an award-winning case study with other authors that has won Emerald's 23rd CEEMAN Case Writing Competition in 2017.
