Dr. Nitin Bhatia has received his doctorate from the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay in 2016. He has received his B.Tech. (Honours) in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Rajasthan Technical University in 2010. Before joining NIIT University as an Assistant Professor, he has worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering at IIT Kharagpur.
His research work pertains to the broad field of Fiber Optics and Photonics. His expertise is on fiber based multimode interference devices which find various applications ranging from optical sensors, all-fiber passive devices, and fiber lasers. He is currently working to realize optical fiber based solutions for generating Bessel, Vector, OAM and LG optical beams for medical imaging and communication systems. In addition to that, his research interests include modelling and characterization of future mode division multiplexing systems, non-linear fiber optics for realizing mid IR sources, and optical sensors.
