Signal Processing applications of Charge Transfer Devices
Prof. Navin Kumar Kapur has earned his B.Tech and Ph.D in Electrical Engineering both from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 1971 & 1982 respectively. His research was in the area of Signal Processing applications of Charge Transfer Devices; a significant portion of the research was conducted during deputation at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Edinburgh, Scotland on the development of high performance processors for image compression and radar & sonar applications.
His work experience is 34 years in Industry and 9 years in teaching and research. The tenure in industry was at Continental Device India Ltd, wherein he has been engaged with the entire process of Semiconductor Manufacturing covering Chip Design, Wafer Fabrication, Device packaging, Quality, Reliability & Failure Analysis, Facilities & Infrastructure including Pollution Control. In depth involvement in the set up and implementation of Quality and Environment Management Systems — ISO 9001 / 14001 / TS 16949, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Eco Design projects, conducting Training / HRD programmes.
His teaching experience is at IIT Delhi and later with Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology Delhi. In addition he delivered guest lectures and supervised projects at Department of Electronic Science, South Campus, University of Delhi. He has been a member of several Advisory Committees, Working Groups & Panels at IIT Delhi, Ministry of Communications & Information Technology (Govt of India), Bureau of Indian Standards, Electronics Components Industries Association. He was also Guest Editor, IETE Technical Review, special Edition on Semiconductor Industry. He has made presentations at several seminars and Conferences on Semiconductor Technology, Quality, Environment & Operations Management.
