Mr. Ashim Sattar is a M.Sc gold medallist (Applied Geology) and presently a Ph.D scholar at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee and Divecha Centre for Climate Change, IISc. Bangalore. He has completed his doctoral synopsis and awaiting his thesis submission. His research focuses mainly on field and remote sensing-based modelling of glaciers and glacial lakes. He is involved in advanced hydrological and hydrodynamic modelling of steady and unsteady flows, basin hydrology and flood management. He has also been involved in conducting rigorous field work for scientific data collection using sophisticated instruments like echo sounders and differential GPS, in high-altitude glaciated terrain (above 400m amsl). He has worked in several projects of national importance of which few are listed below:

  1. RISK ASSESSMENT OF MORAINE DAMMED GLACIER LAKES DUE TO CLIMATE CHANGE IMPRINT-Project sponsored by MHRD & MoES
