NU Scholar Search Programme

All registered regular full time students would be provided scholarship of upto Rs 30, 000 per month. They shall be required to assist half time in the teaching/research activities. In lieu of the services, NU shall not charge any university fee (computed at Rs 4, 40,000 / annum) from the residential Ph.D scholars.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The numbers of NU scholarships available under this programme are limited and are awarded on first come first serve basis.
  2. Failure to remit the applicable fees will lead to termination/suspension of the student from the rolls of the university.
  3. The grant of NU scholarship will be at the sole discretion of the University and no disputes will be entertained.
  4. The University may alter or discontinue the NU Scholar Search Programme at its sole discretion.

Fee

NU offers two fee payment plans:

  1. Annual Payment Plan (APP)
  2. Semester Payment Plan (SPP)

NOTE: All fees can be paid in cash, through electronic transfer, or by Crossed Demand Draft drawn in favor of NIIT University, payable at New Delhi.

Annual Payment Plan (APP)

The total fees payable by the candidate in the Annual Payment Plan (APP) is as per the table below. The first year’s fees is payable at the time of enrolment. The subsequent years’ fees is payable in advance by June 1 every year.

Note:

  1. In addition to the above, one time refundable interest-free security deposit of INR 25,000 (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand Only) is payable at the time of enrollment in addition to the above mentioned fees. The acceptance fee would be adjusted against the refundable interest-free security deposit of INR 25,000.
  2. Residential scholars are exempted from the University fees and are paid a scholarship of INR 25,000 per month.
  3. Mess charges are payable at actuals (currently estimated at approximately INR 3,600 per month) payable in advance for the semester for the residential programmes and on actuals for the non-residential programmes.
  4. Hostel Fee would not be applicable for non-residential doctorate programmes.

Semester Payment Plan (SPP)

Fees payable by the candidate in the Semester Payment Plan (SPP) is as per the table below. The first semester’s fees is payable at the time of enrollment. The subsequent semester’s fees is payable in advance by December 1 and June 1 every year.

Note:

  1. Changing Fee Plans

A student can change the selected fee plan as per the following conditions.

  • For changing the fee plan the student will have to pay a change processing charge of INR 1,000 every time a request is made for a change.
  • A request for change can be made only once in a year.
  • A request to change from a lump sum fee plan to any other plan will not be entertained.
  • The student should contact the University Accounts department to get the exact amounts payable consequent to any fee plan change.

Refund of Interest-Free Security Deposit

The security deposit amount will be refunded to the student on completion of the Programme, subject to any deductions on account of any books not returned to the library or any damages caused to the equipment and infrastructure of the University, etc.

Refund of Semester/Annual Fee

Any amount paid will be refunded subject to a deduction of acceptance cum admission processing fee towards processing charges. Students can request for a refund only before the commencement of the programme.

Procedure to request a refund

  • Send a written application stating the reason for refund.
  • The application should be duly signed by both the student and a parent and should include an identity proof of the applicant, admission offer letter and payment receipt.
  • The application can be downloaded from our website www.niituniversity.in.
  • The applicant should be available for a face-to-face exit PCI, if required by the university.

Note: No email requests for refunds will be entertained. Once the refund application is received, the admission will be withdrawn.
