Admissions Process

Step 1: Submit the duly completed Admission Application Form along with all the required documents, using any of the following modes:

  • Online at the NU website: www.niituniversity.in. Attach a scanned copy of the Class X mark sheet and recommendation letter.
  • Printed copy of the form by post to NU Central Admissions Office at NIIT House, 85, Sector 32, Institutional Area, Gurgaon – 122001.
  • Scanned copy emailed to mtechcs@niituniversity.in along with the Class X, XII, Graduation mark sheet.
  • Printed copy of the form submitted in person to a duly authorised representative, details of which are available on the NU website.

All required documents should be submitted along with the application. If forms are submitted online, a scanned copy of all the required documents should also be attached.

Step 2: NU will send an acknowledgement of the receipt of the Admission Application Form and send intimation about the schedule for the NU Admission Test to each eligible candidate subsequently after receiving the application. Candidates having a valid GATE score of 90 percentile or more will be exempted from appearing at NU Admission Test and will be considered directly for the interview.

Step 3: The candidate who will be shortlisted after the NU Admission Test will be notified by the admission office about the interview dates and location. The following will be assessed during the interview:

Step 4: An Admission offer will be made to the selected applicants within 7 working days of the completion of the admission process. Applicants may be put on a waitlist or those who have not been selected will receive a regret letter.

Step 5: Selected candidates should submit Admission Acceptance Letter duly signed by them and their parent/guardian /spouse along with non-refundable Acceptance and Admission processing fee of INR 20,000 (Rupees Twenty thousand only) within 5 working days of receiving the letter. The acceptance fee would be adjusted in the first year fee. They also need to pay the applicable fee within 15 days of receiving the offer letter by cash or, electronic transfer or Crossed Demand Draft, in favour of NIIT University, payable at New Delhi.

Step 6: Students join the University campus on 08th Aug, 2016 to complete the first registration formalities including submission of original mark-sheet of Masters, if applicable, Graduation, Class X and XII.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Submission of duly completed Admission Application Form by specified date with all necessary documents as specified in the prospectus/admission notification, along with the application fee of INR 1,500.
  2. Applicant must submit the Admission Acceptance Letter duly signed to Admission Office and pay INR. 20,000 Non refundable towards Acceptance and Admission processing fee by cash, or by electronic transfer, or by Crossed Demand Draft in favour of NIIT University payable at New Delhi within 5 working days from the receipt of Offer letter sent to the student via sms, email and courier, failing which the admission offer will stand withdrawn automatically. The acceptance fee would be adjusted in the first year fee.
  3. Admission is valid only for the programme stated in the offer letter for the academic year 2016-17.
  4. The programme commences on 8rd Aug, 2016.

Eligibility

  1. An applicant must have secured ≥ 60% in Class X and Class XII Board Examinations.
  2. Applicant must have secured ≥ 60% in the relevant qualifying Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (as applicable) as mentioned below:
  3. Four year Bachelor’s Degree holders in Engineering/Technology in CSE or IT or ECE and those who are completing their Degree in the current academic year.

OR

  1. Master’s Degree holders in Computer Applications /Computer Science or IT or Mathematics/Statistics and also those who are completing their Degree in the current academic year.
  2. Professional with relevant experience can also apply.

Fees

Fee Payment Plans

  1. Lump sum Payment Plan (LPP)
  2. Annual Payment Plan (APP): Upfront Fee paid by student for two semesters
  3. Semester Payment Plan (SPP): fee paid by student semester wise

NOTE: All fees can be paid in cash, or through electronic transfer, or by Crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of NIIT University, payable at New Delhi.

Lump Sum Payment Plan (LPP)

The fee in the Lump Sum Payment Plan (LPP) is INR 4,75,000 (Rupee Four Lakh Seventy Five Thousand only), covering university and hostel fee for 2 years. Fee is payable as down payment at the time of enrolment.

Down payment ensures that the candidate is protected from all escalations and increases which can occur in the fee in the subsequent years.

Note: One time refundable interest-free security deposit of INR 25,000 (Rupees Twenty five Thousand Only) is payable at the time of enrollment. In addition to the above mentioned fee also Mess and Laundry charges are payable at actuals (currently mess charges are estimated @ INR 21600 per semester & Laundry charges @ INR 2400/- per semester) payable in advance every semester.

Annual Payment Plan (APP)

The total fee payable by the candidate in the Annual Payment Plan (APP) is as per the table below. The first year’s fee (applicable for two semesters) is payable at the time of enrolment. The subsequent years’ fee is payable in advance by June 1 every year. The fee shown for year 2 is a projected fee, assuming 5% escalation every year. The exact amount will be informed to the student at the beginning of the year.

^ Hostel Fee would not be applicable during the off site Industry Practice.

Semester Payment Plan (SPP)

Fee payable by the candidate in the Semester Payment Plan (SPP) is as per the table below. The first semester’s fee is payable at the time of enrolment. The subsequent semester’s fee is payable in advance by December 1 and July 1 every year.

Change in Fee Plans

  • A student can change the selected fee plan as per the following conditions.
  • For changing the fee plan the student will have to pay a change processing charge of INR 1000/- every time a request is made for a change.
  • A request for change can be made only once in a year within one month of registration.
  • The student should contact the University Accounts department to get the exact amounts payable consequent to any fee plan change.
  • After depositing the applicable fee, please mail a scanned copy of the receipt at: mtech@niituniversity.in.
