B.Tech- Fee & Scholarship

FEE STRUCTURE

NU Admissions committee declares the fee structure for the forth-coming academic year by June 20 of the year. The fee can be increased every semester or annually. The typical fee increases every year has been so far 5% to 6%. Any fee increase would be communicated at least 45 days in advance of the semester commencement.

For the current Academic year, the one-time Fee/Security deposit is as follows:

The University offers two payment plans:

  2. Semester Payment Plan (SPP)

ANNUAL PAYMENT PLAN (APP)

The total fee payable by the candidate in the Annual Payment Plan (APP) at the time of enrollment is as per the table below.

The hostel fee is on triple occupancy rooms per annum. Male students can change to double occupancy by paying an additional amount of INR 23,800 per annum. or to single occupancy by paying INR 41,600 per annum additionally. For female students, only single room option is available for which an additional payment of INR 23,800 per two semesters is required. In subsequent years the allocation of single, double or triple occupancy room is based on availability and is allocated on a first- come first- served basis. The double & triple room occupancy will be extremely limited in subsequent years.

Students, who register for summer term for any special course/programme will have to pay the applicable fee prior to the registration for the corresponding programme. It is highly recommended that from 2nd year onwards students move into single occupancy rooms.

For female students, only single room option is available for which an additional payment of INR 12,100 per semester is required. In subsequent years the allocation of single, double or triple occupancy room is based on availability and is allocated on a first- come first- served basis. The double & triple room occupancy will be extremely limited in subsequent years.

CHANGING FEE PLANS

A student can change the selected fee plan as follows:

  • For changing the fee plan the student has applied and paid a change processing fee of INR 1,000.
  • A request for change can be made only once in a year latest by August 30 of every year.
  • The student contact the University Accounts department to get the exact amount payable consequent to any fee plan change.

THE NU SCHOLAR SEARCH PROGRAMME

To encourage and support meritorious candidates, NU has implemented a very distinctive scholarship programme called the ‘NU Scholar Search Programme’. Under this Programme, an applicant may qualify for a scholarship up to 100% on the University Tuition Fee. Scholarship is awarded based on the average of Class X & Class XII marks as well as performance during the Admission Interaction Process(AIP). For applicants applying before the announcement of Class XII results, scholarships will be offered based on Class X and AIP performance and the offered scholarship may be reviewed once Class XII results are obtained. The student in Class XII is expected to score the same kind of marks as scored in Class X.

The scholarship offered by NU is applicable for the duration of the programme, subject to maintaining the required CGPA.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SCHOLARSHIPS ARE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY AND ARE GRANTED ON FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS.

REFUND OF INTEREST-FREE SECURITY DEPOSIT

The security deposit amount will be refunded to the student on completion of the programme, subject to any deductions due to books not returned to the library or damages caused to the equipment and infrastructure of the University, etc.

REFUND OF TUITION & HOSTEL FEE:

If a student wants to withdraw admission in the first year, the following process will apply.

In case of (1) in the table above, the university shall deduct an amount not more than 10% of the total fees as processing charges from the refundable amount.

No refund application will be entertained after August 11, 2018.

Procedure to request a refund

  • Send a written application stating the reason for refund.
  • The application should be duly signed by both the student and a parent and should include an identity proof of the applicant, admission offer letter and payment receipt.
  • The application can be downloaded from NIIT University Website.
  • The applicant should be available for a face-to-face exit PCI, if required by the university.

Note: No email requests for refunds will be entertained. Once the refund application is received, the admission will be withdrawn. Refund would be processed within 15 days of receiving the complete application refund. The refund application is deemed as duly complete and verified only after receiving all the applicable ‘no dues’ certificate from all the relevant units of the university.
