Objective & Role
Objective:
The objective behind establishing this unique ‘Institution of Mentor Professors’ at NU is to implement its ‘Mission’ and to achieve its ‘Vision’ by fusing the energy and idealism of youth, (young, bright, energetic faculty) with the wisdom of age and experience (Mentor Professor).
Role:
A Mentor Professor is
- a visionary leader
- an inspirer, and
- a role model
Who shall
- groom the young faculty
- impact the challenging minds of students by offering a few courses and
- inculcate in them a love for subject
- create the desired ambience (an ideal environment) on a 24×7 residential Campus
- assist the ‘Area Leader’ to establish best practices in pedagogy, effective teaching – learning process and a research focus in all academic pursuits , and
- advise the management on all aspects of making the NU as a Centre of Excellence
