NIIT University gets Greenest Campus award
NIIT University has always believed in instilling appreciation for nature in Young Minds and its continued efforts in creating an eco friendly world were applauded in the India Today Aspire Education Summit 2012 . The best of India’s education sector were honoured in the event and the award for the greenest campus went to NIIT University for being the most environment-friendly campus. The award was received by Mr. Vijay Thadani, CEO, NIIT and co-founder of NIIT University, and Dr. Rajeev Shorey, president, NIIT University in a glittering ceremony on January 27.
The Third Annual Lecture by Dr. Karan Singh
November 12 was a significant day at NIIT University, where the Third Annual Lecture by the Honourable Chairperson, Dr. Karan Singh was celebrated with much esteem and fervour. The Chief Guest for the occasion was none other than the legendary Grandmaster of Chess, World Champion, Mr. Vishwanathan Anand. Another milestone on this day was the first Convocation Ceremony of the students of Master of Technology in Educational Technology.

HRD Minister Visits NIIT University
Shri Kapil Sibal, Hon’ble Minister of HRD, Communications and IT visited NIIT University on October 7 to attend a celebration of NIIT’s SLS (School Learning Solutions) business unit on achieving the milestone of reaching 10 million students in India. NIIT nGuru suite from SLS business unit comprises Interactive Classrooms for teachers, Math lab, Mobile Science Lab, IT Wizard, Learning lab for students and Quick School, an ‘Education Resource Planning’ solution for the school management.

This very enriching forum was valuable in enhancing the overall vision and mission of GISFI, which is emerging as a premier organisation.”
Blood Donation: A Fulfilling Experience
There is no better service to the society than giving life to somebody one doesn’t even know. Reiterating this fact, a blood donation camp was organized by NIIT University in association with the Indian Red Cross Society on September 19, 2011 where students, faculty and staff members came forward to support the noble drive. The camp witnessed an overwhelming response especially from the students with 84 donors contributing to the cause. Each donor received a certificate of appreciation by NU and a donor certificate by the Red Cross Society. The initiative kindled a spirit of social responsibility amongst the student community which contributed whole heartedly towards making it a huge success.
A Rare Treat for NU Students of MBA (Finance & Banking)
NU organized ‘NU Social Media Competition’ in which the winners got the opportunity to interact with Mr. Rajan Anandan, Country Head, Google India on the 19th of July.
The second MBA batch at NU went through a two day orientation program on the 18th and 19th of July preceding the start of classes which acquainted them with the legacy, vision, mission and core principles of the university.
An Incredible Learning Experience for NU MBA students in China
As part of the International Immersion Programme, the students of MBA spent an enriching evening with Dr. Jaishankar, the Indian Ambassador to China. It was a highly interactive session where the students posed pertinent questions ranging from bilateral relations to the economic growth of the country.

ICICI Bank and NIIT University to offer MBA (Finance & Banking)
NIIT University and ICICI Bank Ltd, India’s largest private sector Bank, have come together to launch MBA (Finance & Banking), a novel program that aims at creating business leaders of the future. The MOU was signed by the Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Bank, Chanda Kochhar and Mr Rajendra S Pawar, the Founder, NIIT University. The programme is expected to commence from April 2011.
Founder, NIIT University Mr Rajendra S Pawar has been conferred with Padma Bhushan, for his distinguished service to the Nation. His unique vision enabled in the early 1980’s created a whole new industry and contributed to development of IT manpower for the economically surging nation.
Prof. Sunil Khanna, Area Director, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics and Dean Planning & Faculty Affairs, NIIT University, Neemrana has been honored with the fellowship of 70-year old Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI). The AMI has over 2500 members and less than 90 fellows.
