B. Tech. Industry Practice

The Industry Practice programme provides students with an opportunity to gain experience working in interdisciplinary teams on real-life projects of high relevance to an organization. It also helps to enhance resume to secure a good job at the end of the programme. Industry Practice is always conducted on-site and students are treated like regular employees. All office rules such as timings, holidays, dress code, ID card, etc. are applicable to the students. Each Internship lasts for 6 months (an entire semester) to ensure a meaningful and mutually rewarding experience for the student and organization.

A dedicated faculty mentor provides continued guidance and support, beginning with identifying a suitable project and refining it. Working together, an appointed mentor from the organization and the NIIT University faculty mentor provide inputs, supervise students’ work and carry out regular evaluations. Background & Origins

The Practice School Programme of BITS, Pilani was created in 1971 by Prof. C. R. Mitra based upon the Practice School Programme at MIT. NIIT Limited has further refined this methodology to embed Professional Practice into its flagship GNIIT Programme. Today, the GNIIT Professional Practice Programme is the largest education-industry linkage in the world. NIIT University’s Industry Practice Programme, in turn, has built upon this cumulative experience to ensure Seamless and Industry-linked education for all students, thereby laying the foundation to build great careers.
