Biography

Dr. Debopam Acharya completed his PhD in Computer Science from University of Missouri, Kansas City, USA in 2006, MTech in Computer Science from JNU, New Delhi, India in 2003, and B.E. in Computer Science from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra, India in 2000. Prior to joining NIIT University, D. Acharya was an Assistant Professor at Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, Georgia, USA from 2006 to 2011. He was a Software Engineer at Garmin International Inc., Olathe, Kansas, USA, from 2005 to 2006. Dr. Acharya’s research includes development of SAVE – a wireless java based technology to prevent and report road accidents that can save life. This research has featured in leading international publications. Dr. Acharya serves in the editorial board of several international journals and conferences.
