The events on campus can culture, adventure, sports, etc.
Any discussion about the student life at NU is incomplete without the mention of ingeNUity, NIIT University’s annual techno-cultural fest. The event is fully organized, coordinated, and executed by the students, and hence displays the best of all talent at NU. In its fifth year now, ingeNUity is a three day event featuring more than 40 events, including technical events by the Microsoft Innovation Centre at NU. The fest receives extensive participation from colleges in Delhi NCR and Jaipur.
The annual dance off, where teams are chosen based on a league format auction, and the solo, duet and group dance categories of the competition culminate into an overall winner.
The bi-annual musical night at NU, organized by the student coordinated Music Club. Students put up magnificent performances including vocals, guitar, drums, keyboard, harmonium, tablas and violin.
Chai & Why
A faculty member shares interesting bits of his/her life with the students and what they learnt from them. The students are free to interact with the faculty. All this happens over cups of tea, coffee, shakes, as is one’s preference.
A bi-annual event held mid-semester ensures NU faculty and students take a break to participate in and showcase their interests be it sports, coding, painting, photography, heritage walks, yoga, Ayurveda … the list is endless.
All festivals are celebrated with great gusto by the NU family. Sometimes people from the surrounding community are invited to partake of the sumptuous festival lunch.
The Adventure Sports club, NU Saahas, organizes an annual trip involving trekking, rafting, rappelling and camping.
The Photography Club, Instils, organizes an annual photography trip to picturesque locations to click pictures that are then displayed during the Photography Exhibition on the day of the Annual Lecture.
The university has a packed sports’ calendar, with different formats of various sports played all throughout the year. The various sports include cricket, football, badminton, lawn tennis, table tennis, volleyball, and basketball.
These are hosted between the three houses – Orange, White, and Green – headed by the House captain. They are the largest component of evaluation in the awarding of the House Cup at the end of each academic year.
A more informal type of competition, the batches of the university indulge in friendly competition in various sports.
The more popular sports have their own leagues, like the NUPL for cricket, the Football League, Pool League, the Badminton and the Basketball League.
