PhD Selection Criteria
I Eligibility
The following categories of candidates will be considered for admission to PhD Programs:
Category I: On Campus
- Minimum 60% marks in High School (10th) examination
- Minimum 60% marks in 10+2 examination from any Board in India or its equivalent from any other country
- Minimum 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.67 on a scale of 10 or its equivalent in bachelors course as given below
- 4. Minimum 60 % marks or a CGPA of 6.67on a scale of 10 or its equivalent in masters program as given below in Program Specific Eligibility
In case of exceptionally bright candidate with a minimum 80% marks or a CGPA of 8.89 on a scale of 10 or its equivalent in 4-year degree course as given below, direct admission to Ph D will be offered.
Category II: Off Campus
Educational qualifications as mentioned in category I above with 5 years of relevant experience
Program Specific Eligibility:
1. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE ) & Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) Program :
For Category I : BE/BTech/BS in CS/CSE/IT/ECE
Or
ME/MTech/MS in CSE/CS/IT/ECE
For Category II: Employed/ self-employed professionals with 4-year Bachelors degree in CS/ CSE/ IT/ECE, having good programming expertise and solid foundation in mathematics
*This information pertains to the admissions for 2010-2011 alone. Therefore, no inference should be drawn from this document about the future admission processes at NIIT University. NIIT University reserves the right to update its admissions process that it deems necessary, making it more relevant and valid to changing scenarios in higher education.
2. Educational Technology (ET) Program :
For Category I: BE/BTech/BS in CS/CSE/IT/ECE with exceptional performance
Or
MTech
Or
Masters in any discipline with 1 year of relevant experience/MPhil/MEd
For Category II: Employed/ self-employed professionals with 4-year Bachelors degree in any discipline
3. Biotechnology/Bioinformatics (BT/BI) Programs :
For Category I: BE/B Tech/BS in Biotechnology with exceptional performance
Or
ME/M Tech/M. Sc/MS in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Life Sciences/ Botany/ Zoology
For Category II:Not Applicable
II Admission Criteria and Process
Admission to the PhD program would be based on an applicant specific written examination followed by an interview.
Written examination and Interview will carry equal weightage. Final selection will be made on a case-to-case basis.

IV Round the year submission of Application Form
The completed Application Form can be submitted any time starting January 1st ,2010 through the academic year 2010-11 by one of the following methods:
