M Tech - The NU Scholar Search Programme

M.Tech in Geographic Information Systems

Limited number of scholarships are available for M.Tech GIS students. In order to encourage and support meritorious candidates, NU has implemented a very distinctive NU Scholar Search Programme for M.Tech GIS.

Fee

The University two types of fee payment plans :

  1. Annual Payment Plan (APP)
  2. Semester Payment Plan (SPP)

NOTE: All fees can be paid either online (Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/UPI) or by Cheque/ Demand Draft drawn in favor of NIIT University, payable at Delhi/Gurugram.

Annual Payment Plan (APP)

The total fees payable by the candidate in the Annual Payment Plan (APP) is as per the table below. The first year’s fees is payable at the time of enrollment. The subsequent years’ fees is payable in advance by June 1 every year. The fee shown for year 2 is a projected fee, assuming 5% escalation every year. The exact amount will be informed to the student at the beginning of the year.

Note:The hostel fee is for double occupancy rooms. Male students can change to single occupancy by paying additional INR 17,800 per annum. For female students, only single room option is available by paying same as double occupancy tariff. In subsequent years the allocation of single or double occupancy room is based on availability and is allocated on a first- come first- served basis. The single or double room occupancy will be extremely limited in subsequent years. Students, who register for summer term for any special courses/programme will have to pay the applicable fee prior to the Registration for the corresponding programme.

Semester Payment Plan (SPP)

Fees payable by the candidate in the Semester Payment Plan (SPP) is as per the table below.

The hostel fee is for double occupancy rooms. Male students can change to single occupancy by paying additional INR 8,900 per semester. For female students, only single room option is available by paying same as double occupancy tariff. In subsequent years the allocation of single or double occupancy room is based on availability and is allocated on a first- come first- served basis. The single or double room occupancy will be extremely limited in subsequent years. Students, who register for summer term for any special courses/programme will have to pay the applicable fee prior to the Registration for the corresponding programme.

Change in Fee Plans

A student can change the selected fee plan as per the following conditions.

  • For changing the fee plan the student has applied and paid a change processing fee of INR 1,000.
  • A request for change can be made only once in a year latest by August 30 of every year.
  • The student should contact the University Accounts department to get the exact amounts payable consequent to any fee plan change.

Refund Rules

Refund of Interest-Free Security Deposit

The deposit amount will be refunded to the student on completion of the two- year programme subject to any deductions on account of any books not returned to the library or any damages caused to the equipment and infrastructure of the University, etc.

REFUND OF TUITION & HOSTEL FEE:

If a student wants to withdraw admission in the first year, the following process will apply.

In case of (1) in the table above, the university shall deduct an amount not more than 10% of the total fees as processing charges from the refundable amount.

No refund application will be entertained after August 11, 2018.

To request refund,

  • Send a written application stating the reason for refund.
  • The application should be duly signed by both the student and a parent and should include an identity proof of the applicant, admission offer letter and payment receipt.
  • The application can be downloaded from our website
  • The applicant should be available for a face-to-face exit PCI, if required by the University.

Note: No email requests for refunds will be entertained. Once the refund application is received, the admission will be withdrawn. Refund would be processed within 15 days of receiving the complete application refund. The refund application is deemed as duly complete and verified only after receiving all the applicable ‘no dues’ certificate from all the relevant units of the university.

M.Tech in Educational Technology

Limited number of scholarships are available for M.Tech ET students. In order to encourage and support meritorious candidates, NU has implemented a very distinctive NU Scholar Search Programme. The Merit scholarship is awarded as per the Merit list that is drawn on the basis of following parameters:

Pre-service

  • 5% weightage to the marks obtained in the High School (10th) Exam.
  • 10% weightage to the marks obtained in 10+2 Exam.
  • 10% weightage to the marks obtained in Last Degree (Graduation/Post Graduation).
  • 30% weightage to the marks obtained in GATE/GRE/NU Aptitude Test.
  • 10% weightage to the marks obtained in Presentation by Applicant.
  • 35% weightage to the performance in the interview.

In-service

  • 5% weightage to the marks obtained in the High School (10th) Exam.
  • 10% weightage to the marks obtained in 10+2 Exam.
  • 10% weightage to the marks obtained in Last Degree (Graduation/Post Graduation).
  • 40% weightage to the marks obtained in Work Experience (Years of Experience plus Test)
  • 35% weightage to the performance in the interview.

Following Scholarships are offered to candidates:

Merit Scholarship Plan B+ (MS-B+)

Under this plan, a candidate qualifies for a 75% Scholarship on University & Hostel Fee (MS-B+)

Merit Scholarship Plan B (MS-B)

Under this plan, a candidate qualifies for a 50% Scholarship on University & Hostel Fee (MS-B).

Merit Scholarship Plan C (MS-C)

Under this plan, a candidate qualifies for a 25% Scholarship on University & Hostel Fee (MS-C)

Terms and conditions

  1. The numbers of NU scholarships available under this programme are limited and are awarded on first-come-first-served-basis.
  2. The NU scholarship will be upgraded, downgraded or withdrawn in case the student fails to meet the stipulated CGPA in the year as shown in Table 2 above.
  3. For the year in which the NU scholarship gets downgraded or withdrawn, all the applicable fee will be payable by the student within 10 days of announcement of the University results or June 1 whichever is later.
  4. Failure to remit the applicable fee will lead to termination/suspension of the student from the rolls of the university.
  5. The grant of NU scholarship will be at the sole discretion of the University and no disputes will be entertained.
  6. The University may alter or discontinue the NU Scholar Search Programme at its sole discretion.

FEE

The University provides two fee payment plans:

NOTE: All fee can be paid in cash, or through electronic transfer, or by Crossed Demand Draft drawn in favor of NIIT University, payable at Gurgaon.

Annual Payment Plan (APP)

The total fee payable by the candidate in the Annual Payment Plan (APP) is as per the table below. The first year’s fee is payable at the time of enrollment. The subsequent years’ fee is payable in advance by June 1 every year. The fee shown for year 2 is a projected fee, assuming 5% escalation every year. The exact amount will be informed to the student at the beginning of the year.

Note: In addition to the above, one time refundable interest-free security deposit of INR 50,000/-(Rupees Forty Thousand Only) is payable at the time of enrollment. The hostel fee is for double occupancy room for male candidates. However, they can upgrade to single occupancy by paying an additional INR 16000/- for two semesters. For female candidate only single room is available at the same fee mentioned above.

^ Hostel fee is INR. 500 per day for maximum stay of two weeks per semester for working professionals.

Note: mess fee is INR 21600/- for a semester and varies based on actual expenses. Laundry charges are inr 400 per month.

Semester Payment Plan (SPP)

Fee payable by the candidate in the Semester Payment Plan (SPP) is as per the table below. The first semester’s fee is payable at the time of enrolment. The subsequent semester’s fee is payable in advance by December 1 and June 1 every year.

REFUND RULES

Refund of Semester/Annual Fee

Any amount paid will be refunded subject to a deduction of acceptance-cum-admission processing fee towards processing charges. Students can request for a refund only before the commencement of the programme.

Procedure to request a refund:

  • Send a written application stating the reason for refund.
  • The application should be duly signed by both the student and a parent and should include an identity proof of the applicant, admission offer letter and payment receipt.
  • The application can be downloaded from our website.
  • The applicant should be available for a face-to-face exit PCI, if required by the University.

No email requests for refunds will be entertained. Once the refund application is received, the admission will be withdrawn.

Processing Time

The refund will be processed after 30-Sep-2018 and will be closed before 30-Nov-18 by the University.

Other Terms and conditions

  1. This information pertains to admissions offered for the year 2018-2020 alone. Therefore, no inference should be drawn from this document about the future admission processes at NU. NU reserves the right to update its admissions process as it deems necessary, making it more relevant and valid to changing scenarios in higher education.
  2. Incomplete applications may be rejected by the University.
  3. Admissions to the University are granted at the sole discretion of the University.
  4. Any attempt to influence the admission process will cause the applicant to be disqualified from admission.
  5. Failure to adhere to any of the steps of the admission process will cause the offer of admission to be automatically withdrawn.
  6. The grant of admission and scholarship is based on the disclosures made by the applicant. If any disclosure is found incorrect or inaccurate at a later date then the University may withdraw the scholarship or suspend or terminate admission or withhold the degree of the candidate.
