BTech Selection Criteria

I Eligibility

Category 1: Toppers in 10+2 in all Boards in India conducting 10+2 examination
Admission to Category 1 is by invitation provided candidate has secured minimum 75 % marks in High School (10th) examination
Category 2:
a. B Tech – Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
1.High School (10th) Examination: Minimum 60 % marks
2.10+2 Examination: Minimum 60 % marks with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from any Board in India or its equivalent from any other country
3.Qualified in JEE/AIEEE examination
b. B Tech – Biotechnology (BT)
1.High School (10th) Examination: Minimum 60 % marks
2.10+2 Examination: Minimum 60 % marks with Physics, Chemistry and Biology OR Minimum 60 % marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics OR Minimum 60 % marks with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology
3.Qualified in NU conducted on-line entrance examination

II . Admission Criteria and Process

a. B Tech- Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
A merit list of prospective candidates seeking admission to B Tech (CSE) and B Tech (ICT) shall be drawn by considering the following:
a)17% weightage to the marks obtained in the High School (10th) examination
b)17% weightage to the marks obtained in 10+2 examination
c)33% weightage to the rank obtained in JEE /AIEEE, whichever is higher
d)33% weightage to the performance in the on-line/face to face interview

b. B Tech – Biotechnology (BT)
Prospective candidates seeking admission to B Tech (BT) at NU are required to take an on-line entrance examination to be conducted by NU (Details follow). A merit list of prospective candidates seeking admission to B Tech (BT) shall be drawn by considering the following:
a)17% weightage to the marks obtained in the High School (10th) examination
b)17% weightage to the marks obtained in 10+2 examination
c)33% weightage to the marks obtained in NIIT University On-line Examination
d)33% weightage to the performance in the on-line/face to face interview

NU On-line Examination: The details of the on-line examination are as follows:

Duration : 1 hr
Nature : Objective questions
Course : Available on the website
Marking : No negative marking
Location : The test as well as interview will be conducted at some or all of the following locations:

List of candidates, in order of merit including the performance in the Interview, will be posted on the website of the University (www.niituniversity.in).

In case of tie, the rank of JEE/AIEEE/ NIIT University Entrance Examination, 10+2 and 10th examination will be considered in that order to break the tie. If the tie still remains, then all candidates in the tie will be offered admission.
