Chairperson’s Message

Chancellor MessageThe concept of Anadi-Anant is an ancient one in our scriptures, implying that the Universe is eternal – without beginning and without end. The mobius ring that the NIIT University has chosen as its symbol is also a symbol of the inter-connectedness of all knowledge. The concept that knowledge should be looked upon from a holistic rather than a sectional point of view is steadily gaining acceptance around the world. The rigid demarcation into departments and disciplines is giving way to inter-disciplinary approaches whereby students can not only take advantage of the latest technology, but also ground themselves in our rich, pluralistic, multi-faceted spiritual and intellectual heritage.

This green-field university being built by a creative team led by Rajendra S. Pawar and his colleagues with the Aravali Hills in the background, represents a new and innovative approach to knowledge in this 21st century. As Chancellor, my warm greetings go out to Shri Pawar, his colleagues, faculty, staff and students of the University. It is my hope and vision that one day this will become a unique centre of holistic learning, not only for India but for the whole developing world in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
